Ghirardelli Saves the Brownie

I’ve had the Ghirardelli recipes page in my queue for a while now, and I just needed an opportunity to use it. First on the list: “Ghirardelli Award Winning Brownies.” These are the best brownies to ever come out of this kitchen, thanks to the Ghirardelli Cocoa Powder. It gives such a true chocolate flavor. This brownie also has Ghirardelli Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips, which only enrich the brownie. You can also add this frosting for a mocha flavored dessert.
Ghirardelli Award Winning Brownies
Ingredients
• 2 eggs
• 3/4 cup sugar
• 1 tsp. vanilla extract
• 1/2 cup butter, melted
• 3/4 cup Ghirardelli Sweet Ground Chocolate and Cocoa Powder
• 2/3 cup unsifted flour
• 1/4 tsp. baking powder
• 1/4 tsp. salt
• 1/2 cups walnuts, chopped
• 1 cup Ghirardelli Semi-Sweet Chips
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 Fº. Combine eggs with sugar and vanilla; add butter. Sift Ghirardelli Sweet Ground Chocolate with flour, baking powder and salt. Combine with egg mixture; add nuts and Ghirardelli Semi-Sweet Chips. Spread into greased 8-9 inch square pan. Bake 20-30 minutes. For extra chewy brownies, use 8-inch pan and less baking time. For cake-like brownies, use 9-inch pan and longer baking time. Cut into squares.

yummy! I had the PRIVILEGE of having these the other day. Can not wait to make them for myself!
Woot! I should mention that the ones you had were made with unsweetened cocoa, so they had a dark choco flavor. I think the Ghirardelli Sweet Ground Chocolate and Cocoa Powder would be sweeter. 🙂
You must be quite the gourmet cook. This recipe looks yummy!
Carolyn, I’m proficient at following a recipe, that’s all. :o) If you try them, let me know how they turn out.
My mouth definitely started watering just looking at those pictures!
🙂 You have no idea 🙂 Ghirardelli is SO delish!
